Woven Lauhala Bracelet

$15.00

We have run out of stock for this item.

Each woven lauhala bracelet is handmade by local artisans.

Throughout Polynesia, the lauhala (Pandandus) tree has been one of the most useful and important plants to the people of the islands. It's long thin and durable leaves have been woven into storage baskets, sleeping mats, fans, adornments and outrigger canoe sails. Today, craftsmen have adapted to make decorative gifts, jewelry, hats and other creative handicrafts.

The craft of weaving lauhala has been passed down throughout the generations from ancient Polynesia to todays local handicrafters.

We have a selection of favorites and classics available.

We recommend that you measure yourself to get a good fit. An easy way to do this is by taking a piece of string and measuring your hand at the widest part, usually your knuckle (hold your hand straight and fold your thumb inside). Mark where the string touches the other end and then lay out the string on a ruler. The woven lauhala bracelet (bangle) is not adjustable and has little give.
We offer several styles (see photo). From top to bottom:
Konane Classic,
Ohe,
Pahu,
Konane Wide

We will make every effort to have all sizes and styles available. However, should we not have the exact style and size, there may be a week or two delay in completing your order.

Due to the nature of the materials and the fact that each bracelet is handmade, slight differences may occur than what is pictured. We make every effort to make the bracelets as pictured.
