The island Kili bag is a throwback to elegance. A classic look that is both functional and fun. The bags are made in the isolated tropical islands of Micronesia by artisans who painstakenly weave the fibers into intricate designs. Similar in weaving style to the Cook Islands (Rarotonga), the fibers are also prepared in the same way as well.
The white fibers are actually young coconut fronds. Once separated and cleaned, the fibers are cured in salt water, effectively bleaching them to bright white. In many parts of Polynesia, these fibers are called niau blanc.
Inside the bag you'll find a layer of classic 1/4 inch wide lauhala strips woven together to insulate. The top of the bag is attached at one end and opens with a flip of the lid. Woven handles complete the look
Take the bag on your next date or night on the town, whether you're married or not. You'll be in style no matter what. It's not too big and not too small. It's just right.
